The European Policy Centre, together with the European Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Poliglotti4.eu project, held a policy dialogue on the 5th of December about multilingualism entitled, “Mobility, growth and jobs – the multilingual challenge of the single Market”.
Experts and Artists from all over Europe will convene to discuss, debate and exchange their views on the teaching and mastering of European Languages. 15 and 16 November, ‘One continent, Many Tongues: A Spotlight on Europe’s Linguistic Wealth.’
During the 23rd anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Poliglotti4.eu project participated in three events under the joint umbrella of the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) and The Soul of Europe’s “Berlin Conference 2012”. The events were highly successful in further disseminating the project’s research findings and best practices as well as broadening and deepening the exposure of the project through informal networking and formal activities such as signing a joint Declaration and joining the “Cultural Coalition for a Citizens' Europe” which underline the importance of promoting the language diversity of Europe to foster European Citizenship.
Until now most logopedists and therapists believe that children with an auditive or communicative disability such as, deafness, down-syndrome or autism should be brought up in one language. Drs. Mirjam Blumenthal, researcher at the Royal Kentalis, proves the opposite with her presentation!
Poliglotti4.eu, the EU co-funded project on multilingualism and language policy, has gathered for a Stakeholders Meeting at the Spanish Representation of the European Commission in Madrid on 1-2 December 2011, presenting the first results of this two-year civil society project, with participants engaging in lively discussions and interventions.
Poliglotti4.eu, the EU co-funded project on multilingualism and language policy, has launched its website today: www.poliglotti4.eu. The website will serve as the on-line reference on the practice of multilingualism in Europe, and feature a Language Observatory gathering and disseminating best practice in language policy and language learning.
The ongoing EC co-funded Poliglotti4.eu project, to which nine of the platform members have committed, is intended to set up an online Language Observatory until December 2012.
